The Derelict Contadora Resort

The Contadora resort, Panama, closed in around 2009, and now sits derelict on the tropical Contadora Island. Its possible to access the Island via a ferry, which makes the amazing resort something of a unique experience to visit.

The old hotel ferry is even shipwrecked on the beach.

If you’d like to explore this derelict resort, and do some tropical urban exploring, beware that the buildings are now quite unsafe, and it’s also necessary to find a nearby hotel, with Saboga Island offering a nice option, as well as some smaller stays on the Island itself, for those who don’t mind a more basic stay.

Recommendation: stay on a nearby island and visit for the day.
